VN adopts part of revised Kyoto Convention

VNGOP – The PM just sent a document to the State President to propose a roadmap for Việt Nam’s accession to the Protocol of Amendment of the International Convention on the Simplification and Harmonization of customs procedures (revised Kyoto Convention) in two steps. At the moment, Việt Nam announced to accept the Convention’s main body and general annex.

November 15, 2007 7:05 AM GMT+7

The accession to the revised version reflects Việt Nam’s good will and efforts in fulfilling international commitments. This also helps to raise the country’s position in the region and the world.

This process helps to speed up the administrative procedures reforms in line with international standards in order to promote trade, encourage export, attract international investors and tourists into Việt Nam, and improve the economy’s competitiveness.

The main changes in the revised Convention include provisions on the optimal use of information technology, on application of technical advances, and on partnership approach between customs and trade.
