VN attends import-export exhibition fair in Cambodia

VGP - Viet Nam has attended an import-export exhibition fair in Cambodia with a national pavilion and 20 booths of its prestigious enterprises.

December 17, 2015 6:48 PM GMT+7
The exhibition in Phnom Penh from December 15-18 drew the participation of enterprises from Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Japan, Myanmar, and Thailand, who bring to the fair popular consumer products such as garments, mechanical products, fine art handicrafts as well as food and beverage products.

At the national pavilion, the Ministry of Industry and Trade introduced the documents, publications on the investment environment and business in Viet Nam.

In particular, in the context of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC), it was officially formed in late 2015, the fair provides a business opportunity for Viet Nam to expand markets, boosting exports. At the same time, this is also an opportunity to promote trade between domestic enterprises with Cambodian partners and foreign partners.

Sharing the borderline as well as similarities in culture and society, Viet Nam and Cambodia are striving for US$5 billion in bilateral trade in the near future.

Over the past three years, two-way trade hit US$3.4 billion per year, posting a growth of 5.8% on average.

The event aims to enable trade promotion activities, partnership establishment and export market expansion.
