A solemn ceremony was held
on Monday evening to celebrate the establishment of diplomatic relations between
Việt Nam and Poland, Bulgaria,
Hungary, Romania, Czech
Republic and the Slovak Republic.
At the anniversary, Permanent
Deputy PM Nguyễn Sinh Hùng emphasized that, 60 years ago, Central and East European
countries’ recognition of the young Việt Nam
by establishing diplomatic relations significantly gave material and spiritual
strengths to Việt Nam’s
resistance war and laid the foundation for deep friendship and sustainable
cooperation between the two sides later.
Central and East European
countries have helped Việt Nam
build infrastructure and train thousands of scientists, researchers, cadres and
students.
"The heart of the
Vietnamese people always bears deep gratitude to the governments and people of
Central and East European countries," stated the Deputy PM.
Central and East European
ambassadors all recognized the important role of Việt Nam in
consolidating and developing relations between the European Union (EU) and ASEAN.
They expressed their hope
to see a stronger development in the relationships between their countries and Việt
Nam.
