Over the past few days, some bad individuals excited workers to smash production facilities owned by Vietnamese and foreign investors in Dong Nai, Binh Duong and Ha Tinh provinces. These activities negatively affected business operation as well as the business environment in Viet Nam, causing social disorder.

In a quick response manner, PM Nguyen Tan Dung presided over a series of meetings and issued a number of instructions asking ministries and localities to take concrete and drastic actions to deal with the incident.

Ministerial and local leaders made fact-finding tours to those enterprises to assess the damages and discuss measures to overcome the consequences to help them resume production.

Competent authorities have seized hundreds of lawbreakers and are conducting extensive investigations for strict punishment in accordance with the country’s law.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has kept close contacts with competent agencies of other countries to supply updated information and coordinate in settling the consequences.

Mr. Khoi affirmed that the Vietnamese Government will continue effective measures to protect the absolute safety of foreign agencies, investors and nationals; resolutely prevent sabotage activities aimed at foreign businesses and nationals; and strictly punish lawbreakers.

He said the Vietnamese Government hopes foreign Governments would encourage their businesses, experts and nationals to continue living and working in Viet Nam, coordinate with the Vietnamese side to overcome the consequences.

The Assistant to the Foreign Minister once again affirmed that Viet Nam is determined to protect its sovereignty and legitimate interests, resolutely demands China withdraw the drilling rig Haiyang Shiyou-981 illegally installed in Viet Nam’s waters.

He said that Viet Nam will try its best to maintain peace and stability for development.

According to the Ministry of Public Security, situation has been put under control and affected businesses have resumed their operation./.
