VN confirms 20 new local COVID-19 infection cases

VGP – Viet Nam confirmed 21 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday afternoon, bringing the national patient tally to 2,091.

The latest patients include one imported case and 20 local infection cases in Hai Duong (14), Quang Ninh (one), Gia Lai (4) and Ho Chi Minh City (one).

The imported case is a 31-year-old Indonesian man who flew from Indonesia to Ho Chi Minh City on February 7 on flight SQ 178.

He is being treated at the city’s Cu Chi field hospital.

For local cases, patient 2072 is a 29-year-old man in Ho Chi Minh City’s Tan Binh District.

He contracted the virus from his workmate, who had tested positive and became patient 1979, at the Viet Nam Airport Ground Services Company Limited (VIAGS) in Ho Chi Minh City.

Patient 2073 is a 30-year-old woman in Ha Long City, Quang Ninh Province.

She contracted the virus from patient 1553 and is being treated at No. 2 field hospital located at the provincial Lung Hospital.

Patient 2074 is a 39-year-old woman in Ia Pa District, Gia Lai Province.

Patient 2075 is a 29-year-old woman in Gia Lai’s Ia Pa District

Patient 2076 is a 27-year-old woman in Gia Lai’s Ia Pa District.

These women came in contact with patient 1875.

Patient 2077 is a 34-year-old woman in Gia Lai’s Ia Pa District.

She came in contact with patient 1891.

The above patients are being treated at the provincial General Hospital.

Patients 2078-2091 are residents in Hai Duong Province.

The same day, six more patients were declared free of the virus, taking the total recoveries to 1,480.

Viet Nam reported the third wave of local transmissions since January 27. Among the national tally, 1,197 are local infections, including 504 reported over the past two weeks./.
