VN confirms 31 new local COVID-19 cases

VGP – Viet Nam confirmed 31 new community infection cases of COVID-19 on Thursday afternoon, raising the national patient tally to 2,140.

The latest cases are recorded in Hai Duong (27), Quang Ninh (two), Gia Lai (one), and Ha Noi (one).

Specifically, patient 2110 is a two-month-old boy in Ha Noi’s Me Linh District.

He contracted the virus from patient 1725 and has been quarantined since January 31.

The boy is being treated at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Ha Noi’s Dong Anh District.

Patient 2111 is a 34-year-old man in Quang Ninh’s Dong Trieu Town.

Patient 2112 is a 31-year-old woman in Quang Ninh’s Dong Trieu Town.

These two patients were F1 individuals of patient 2052 and have been quarantined since February 8.

They are being treated at the Viet Nam-Sweden Hospital in Quang Ninh’s Uong Bi City.

Patients 2113-2139 are residents in Hai Duong. All of them were quarantined before being tested positive for COVID-19.

Patient 2140 is a 32-year-old man in Ayun Pa Town of the central highlands province of Gia Lai. He was F1 individual of patients 1891, 2076, and 2077.

He is being treated at the Ayun Pa Town Medical Center.

The same day, 51 patients, including 22 in Hai Duong, were declared free of the virus, taking the total recoveries to 1,531, according to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control led by Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam.

In a bid to live safely with the pandemic, people are encouraged to strictly follow the Ministry of Health’s 5K message: khau trang (facemask), khu khuan (disinfection), khoang cach (distance), khong tu tap (no gathering) and khai bao y te (health declaration)./.
