VN confirms one more COVID-19 case, total rises to 1,099

VGP – A 28-year old woman repatriated from Australia tested positive for COVID-19, raising the patient tally to 1,099, the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control reported Wednesday afternoon.

The number of local infection cases of COVID-19 confirmed since the emergence of the second wave of COVID-19 on July 25.

The latest patient arrived at Can Tho International Airport on September 23 and was quarantined immediately in the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho.

She is being treated at the Can Tho Hospital for Tuberculosis and Lung Diseases.

The country’s patient tally includes 1,023 recoveries and 35 deaths.

Today marks the 35^th consecutive day that the country has gone without a community infection case of COVID-19 as all hot spots have been brought under control since the emergence of the second wave of COVID-19 on July 25./.
