VN confirms three new cases of COVID-19, total reaches 1,144

VGP – The National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control has confirmed three citizens repatriated from Russia and Angola became the latest cases of COVID-19, bringing the patient tally to 1,144.

Patient 1,142 is a 46-year-old woman from Dong Son District, Thanh Hoa Province.

The woman took flight VN5062 from Russia to the northern province of Quang Ninh on October 16 and was sent to a concentrated quarantine camp in Ninh Binh Province.

She tested negative for COVID-19 on the date of arrival but the outcome of her second test released on Tuesday showed she is positive for the virus.

She is being treated at a hospital in Ninh Binh’s Hoa Lu District.

Patient 1,143, a 33-year-old woman from Ky Anh town, Ha Tinh Province, and his eight-month-old son, patient 1,114, arrived in Quang Ninh Province from Angola on October 20.

They were quarantined in Tan Yen District, Bac Giang Province upon arrival.

Both of them are being treated at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Ha Noi’s Dong Anh District.

The same day, the Steering Committee, led by Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam, reported the number of recoveries rose to 1,046 while none of the current active cases is in serious health conditions./.
