VN considers economy-trade as pillar in cooperation with U.S.

VGP - Viet Nam considers economy-trade as a pillar in its cooperation with the U.S., stated head of the Party Central Committee’s Economic Commission Nguyen Van Binh while receiving U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Asia Robert Kaproth in Ha Noi on September 10.

Binh expressed his delight at the development of the Viet Nam-U.S. Comprehensive Partnership in all fields toward effectiveness and practical outcomes, affirming that Viet Nam attaches importance to and wants to further strengthening the ties with the US, which is one of the leading partners of Viet Nam.

The Vietnamese Party and Government pay attention to reinforcing economic and trade collaboration with the U.S., creating favorable conditions for U.S. investors in Viet Nam, and facilitating joint projects with US enterprises, he asserted.

For his part, Kaproth told his host about a number of priorities in his country’s economic policy and bilateral cooperation with Viet Nam.

Welcoming the U.S.’ ideas for regional collaboration, Binh said now is a favorable time for the two nations to boost quality investment in the sectors of energy, science-technology, and infrastructure.

He noted such cooperation will help increase the U.S.’ investment in Viet Nam and improve their trade balance.
