Speaking at the symbolic hand-over ceremony on Friday, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc said Viet Nam will promptly ship the rice to the flood-hit Savannakhet Province.

For his part, Lao Prime Minister Thongloun Sisoulith expressed deep thanks to the Party, State and people of Viet Nam for their wholeheartedly assistance over the past time.

Flooding caused by heavy rains left eight districts in the Lao central province of Savannakhet inundated.

This was the worst flooding in the locality bordering Viet Nam’s Quang Tri Province./.
