Viet Nam goes 85 straight days without community COVID-19 infection

As of Friday morning, Viet Nam confirmed 369 patients, including 229 imported cases who were immediately quarantined upon arrival.

Up to 347 patients or 94% have recovered from the disease, and there are no deaths.

Most of the 22 remaining cases are in stable condition, and five of them have tested negative for SARS-CoV-2, the virus causing COVID-19, at least twice.

At present, 12,923 people having close contact with confirmed cases or coming from pandemic-hit areas are under medical surveillance, including 72 in hospitals, 12,447 in centralized quarantine sites, and 404 at places of residence.

Regarding the British pilot (patient numbered 91), the most critical patient in Viet Nam, he is still in rehabilitation process following his recovery from the virus in Ho Chi Minh City-based Cho Ray Hospital.

He is healthy enough to be discharged from hospital and return to the UK./.
