A ceremony to admit Việt Nam to AFF was held on Sunday in Hà Nội.

Addressing the event, Deputy PM Hoàng Trung Hải was convinced that the membership would help Việt Nam make a big leap forward in the regional and global fashion industries.

The leader hoped that the Việt Nam Textile and Apparel Association (VITAS) would make greater contributions to raising competitiveness of made-in-Việt Nam products.

As a member of AFF, Việt Nam pledges to share information and experience with other member states in order to make full use of their potentials, said VITAS Chairman Lê Quốc Ân.

AFF comprises six member states including Japan, Republic of Korea, China, Singapore, Thailand and Việt Nam.
