VN joins proliferation security initiative

VGP – Viet Nam has decided to join the proliferation security initiative (PSI), said Foreign Ministry’s Spokesperson Le Hai Binh on May 21.

“After carefully considering aspects of the initiative, Viet Nam declares its participation in the PSI on the basis of supporting a declaration dated Sept 4, 2003.” the Spokesperson said.

The decision to participate in the initiative reflects Viet Nam’s consistent stance of supporting international cooperation in preventing the risk of proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and relevant transport systems and materials in order to contribute to maintaining global peace and security in accordance with international law, national law, the power and resources of each country.
