Government chief made the statement at his reception for visiting Danish Minister of Education Troels Lund Poulsen in Hà Nội on June 30.

Applauding the Danish Minister’s visit, PM Dũng noted that the relationship between Việt Nam and Demark has been flourishing in all aspects, especially in economics.

Demark is currently Việt Nam’s 7th biggest European investor with bilateral trade turnover standing at US $300 million. Both sides are working together to prepare for the 40th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic relations.

PM Dũng spoke highly of the outcomes of the talks between the Vietnamese and Danish education ministers held the same day, adding that improving education quality is among Việt Nam’s strategic orientations to achieve sustainable development.

Việt Nam, as a developing country, expects to gain more external assistance from strong education powers like Demark, he said.

PM Dũng suggested Demark reduce school fees and provide more scholarships for Vietnamese students in such fields as healthcare and the training of lecturers, or assist Việt Nam to build some vocational training facilities.

The Government chief said he believed that with concerted efforts, both sides would continue making new progress through specific cooperation programs.

Minister Troels Lund Poulsen said his visit aims to expand education and green-development cooperation with Việt Nam.
