VN looks to stronger commercial ties with Iran

Deputy PM Ninh highly spoke of the outcomes of the eighth meeting of the Viet Nam – Iran Joint Committee in which the two sides talked about solutions to raise two-way trade volume to US$500 million in the coming time.

The goal is relatively low and incommensurate with respective potential, but feasible, he said.

Viet Nam, said the host leader, also wants to develop ties with Iran in such areas as politics, trade, investment, culture and education. 

He took the occasion to congratulate Iran as the President of the Non-Aligned Movement for 2012-2013 and hoped to receive more support from the Western Asian nation at multilateral forums. 

For his part, Minister Mehdi Ghazanfari affirmed that the Iranian Government also is ready to assist respective business community in strengthening cooperation and seeking investment opportunities. 

According to Mr. Mehdi Ghazanfari, the two Governments play a significant role in making the two countries’ trade volume meet their potentials as well as relations.

Iran wants to shake hands with Vietnamese partners in the domains of electronic spare parts, computers, clothing, agricultural products and foodstuff, he said.

Both Deputy PM Ninh and Minister Mehdi Ghazanfari agreed to speed up the negotiation process to early sign a double tax avoidance agreement./.
