VN opens first overseas tourism office in UK
VGP - The first overseas tourism office of Viet Nam, named The Visit Viet Nam, was officially launched in London, the UK, on February 18.
The first tourism office is expected to help British people learn more about Viet Nam’s tourism and promote tourism cooperation between the two countries.
Addressing the launching with the participation of over 200 guests from travel companies, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office of the UK, the Viet Nam-UK Network, the Vietnamese Embassy in the UK and national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism Le Quang Tung said that the UK is a strategic partner and the second largest tourism market of Viet Nam in the EU.
He was convinced that the office would help British people learn more about Viet Nam’s tourism and boost tourism cooperation between the two countries.
Chairman of the Viet Nam Tourism Advisory Board Tran Trong Kien said the office would work with The PC Agency of the UK to introduce Viet Nam’s tourism, her latest tourism products to travel companies in the UK, thus helping to boost the number of arrivals from the UK and other key European markets to Viet Nam.
In return, Director of Asia Pacific at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office Kate White applauded the launching of the office. The Director was upbeat about the upcoming F1 Viet Nam Grand Prix in Ha Noi which showed that Viet Nam represents an attractive destination in the eyes of foreign visitors./
