VN prepares for regional disaster combat drill

The ASEAN Regional Disaster Emergency Response Exercise (ARDEX – 13) will draw the attendance of the ASEAN Committee on Disaster Management (ACDM), observers, coordinating forces of ASEAN, disaster management agencies of countries in East Asia, Australia and representatives from international organizations.  

As scheduled, over 2,000 people will join the large-scale drill which was planned to deal with evacuation, emergency relief in flooding areas; rescue of collapsing projects, search and rescue activites; response to chemical accidents and first-level medical assistance; second-level medical assistance and field hospitals.

The event will take place in Son Tay district, Ha Noi.  

Deputy PM Hai tasked the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the National Committee of Search and Rescue to prepare for logistics and manpower and work with foreign delegates and forces slated for the drill./.
