VN records 14 new COVID-19 cases, patient tally reaches 880

VGP – The National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control confirmed 14 new COVID-19 infection cases this afternoon, raising country's patient tally to 880.

Since July 25, Viet Nam has confirmed 419 COVID-19 infection cases linked to Da Nang City.

The latest cases include one in Ha Noi and 13 others linked to the Covid-19 hot spot in Da Nang City.

Patient 867 is a 63-year old man in Binh Giang District, Hai Duong Province.

On July 31, he felt tired and had cough.

On August 8, he went to the Army Central Hospital 108 in Ha Noi for medical check before going to his daughter's home in Ha Noi's Thanh Tri District.

On August 9, he was admitted to the Ha Noi-based Thanh Nhan Hospital where he was diagnosed with severe pneumonia.

On August 11, he had his samples collected by the Thanh Nhan Hospital and Ha Noi Center for Disease Control and the outcomes showed that he was positive for the coronavirus.

Patient 868 is a 58-year old woman in Thanh Khe District, Da Nang. She received treatment at the Da Nang Hospital from July 19-25.

Patient 869 is a 83-year old woman in Hoa Vang District, Da Nang. She was admitted to the Da Nang Hospital from July 4-8 and July 11-19.  

Patient 870 is a 35-year old woman in Dien Ban District, Quang Nam Province. She is the family member of a previously-announced COVID-19 patient (patient numbered 478).

Patient 871 is a 59-year old woman in Cam Le District, Da Nang. She is the spouse of Covid-19 patient 825.

Patient 872 is a 56-year old man in Hoa Vang District, Da Nang. He came in contact with patients numbered 823 and 873.

Patient 873 is a 77-year old woman in Hoa Vang District, Da Nang. She was treated at Da Nang Hospital and came in contact with patient 823.

Patient 874 is a 56-year old woman in Hai Chau District, Da Nang. She is the spouse of patient 666.

Patient 875 is a 26-year old woman in Lien Chieu District, Da Nang. She worked as an intern in the Da Nang Hospital from July 15-27 and had been in contact with patients numbered 435 and 574.

Patient 876 is a 51-year old man in Duy Xuyen District, Quang Nam Province.

Patient 877 is a 41-year old man in Thanh Khe District, Da Nang.

Patient 878 is a 30-year old man in Hai Chau District, Da Nang.

Patient 879 is a 33-year old man in Hai Chau District, Da Nang .

Patient 880 is a 46-year old man in Thanh Khe District, Da Nang City.

Of the country's patient tally, 400 have been cleared of the virus, said the Committee.

At present, 134,248 people, who have been in close contact with COVID-19 patients or come from the pandemic-stricken areas, are under medical surveillance, including 5,365 at hospitals, 24,180 at centralized quarantine facilities, and 104,703 at places of residence.
