VN responds to China’s deployment of H-6J bomber to Hoang Sa

VGP – Viet Nam has repeatedly affirmed that the Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos are the inseparable parts of its territory, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Le Thi Thu Hang told a room of reporters Thursday.

August 20, 2020 7:10 PM GMT+7

She made the statement in response to media questions on Viet Nam’s stance regarding China’s deployment of H-6J bomber to Phu Lam Island in the Viet Nam’s Hoang Sa archipelago in early this month.

Viet Nam has sufficient legal grounds and historical evidence affirming its sovereignty over the Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos in accordance with international law.

The deployment of weapons and fighter aircraft to the Hoang Sa is not only a violation of Viet Nam’s sovereignty over the two archipelagos but also further complicates the situation in the East Sea, Hang said.

Viet Nam calls on parties to make responsible contributions to sustaining peace, security and stability in the East Sea, said the Spokesperson./.
