Japan was the biggest destination for Vietnamese guest workers by recruiting 53,610 laborers (including 20,250 female ones); followed by Taiwan (China) with 41,174 laborers; the RoK with 5,898; Romania with 1,103; Saudi Arabia with 817; Macau with 324; Malaysia with 304.

In September, 12,950 workers were sent abroad, equivalent to 80% of the same period last year.

Vietnamese guest workers now bring home US$ 2.5-3 million of remittances every year.

Labor export helped to alleviate the burden of creating jobs for the country’s young and dense population and provided employment for approximately 10% of the labor force./.
