Receiving the French delegation to the Forum, Deputy PM Nguyễn Sinh Hùng said on Thursday that Việt Nam is striving to become an industrialized country by 2020 and energy is very essential for its development.

Việt Nam urgently needs advanced technologies, solutions and experience which help to ensure its sustainable development, noted the Deputy PM.

Earlier, in the morning of the day, a press briefing was convened in Hà Nội to declare the results of the session.

According to Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyễn Bích Đạt, participants to the session acknowledged Việt Nam as one of countries having conducted effective activities in reducing greenhouse gas, protecting environment, and developing environmentally-friendly industries.

They suggested Việt Nam quickly realize nuclear power projects and build energy-saving works in order to guarantee its sustainable development.

The 8th session of the Việt Nam-France Economic and Finance Forum was organized on November 17-18, focusing on energy policies and their impacts on carbon dioxide emission, power generation, economic growth, and measures to mobilize financial resources for these policies.
