VN to attend UN Climatic Change Conference

VNGOP – Deputy PM Phạm Gia Khiêm agreed on November 6 to dispatch a Vietnamese delegation to the 13th session of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Climate Change (COP 13) and the 3rd session of the Meeting of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol (CMP3) held at Bali, Indonesia, on December 3-14.

November 08, 2007 7:13 AM GMT+7

The delegates include representatives from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Planning and Investment, Finance, Industry and Trade, Agriculture and Rural Development, Resource and Environment.

The COP 13 and CMP 3 aim to offer a specific schedule for dialogues on a new agreement replacing the Kyoto Protocol which will expire in 2012. A new roadmap will be also designed to obtain a consensus on greenhouse gas reduction by 2009.
