According to the Deputy FM, apart from good opportunities to take part in maintaining international stability, pace and security, Việt Nam is also going to face many challenges, especially how to make fastest and sound decisions in conformity with the UN Convention, international laws and legitimate interests of all related sides, permanent members, and other members, including Việt Nam itself.

Answering the question about Việt Nam’s national interests, the senior diplomat stated that Việt Nam’s biggest interest is to maintain a peaceful and stable environment to promote its rapid and sustainable socio-economic development. He went on to say that Việt Nam must give its opinions to the democratization of the UN and the renovation of the UNSC and the UN. Việt Nam is willing to share experience in post-war national reconstruction with other countries, said Deputy FM Minh.

About the ability of Vietnamese diplomats, according to Mr. Minh, for the past 4-5 years, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has proactively sent a large number of diplomats to be trained or work at the UN, qualified its staff, and prepared all necessary documents on the UN.
