VN to strengthen foreign laborer management

VGP – The Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA) has asked localities nationwide to tighten management of foreigners working in Việt Nam.

September 26, 2011 4:03 PM GMT+7

Accordingly, recruitment and granting of work permits for foreign laborers will be inspected and intensified. Deliberated cases will be subjected to strict punishments.

Foreign contractors are required to describe their labor recruitment plans in bidding files and must prioritize the enrolment of local laborers.

Vietnamese project developers must work out regulations on the use of domestic and foreign laborers in accordance with law.

Foreign laborers will be provided visa by provincial police only after they receive their work permits from Vietnamese competent agencies.

All foreign laborers without work permits or with expired work permits will be forced to leave Việt Nam.

Localities are required to inspect the implementation of the work and send reports on the issue prior to October 31, 2011 to the MOLISA for summing up and reporting it to the PM.
