VN treasures cooperative relations development with DPRK

VGP - Vietnam attaches importance to developing cooperative ties, especially in economics, trade, investment and culture with the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.

PM Nguyen Tan Dung made the statement while receiving the visiting Chairman of the Presidium of the Supreme People’s Assembly, Kim Yong-nam, in Hanoi on August 7.

The Government chief took the occasion to extend his deep sympathy and condolence to DPRK people over serious human and property losses caused by recent natural disasters.

Mr. Kim said his country also hopes to reinforce the friendly and multifaceted cooperation with Vietnam, and wants Vietnam to share good experiences in socioeconomic development.

He also thanked Vietnam for having decided to offer 5,000 tons of rice to DPRK.

Regarding Korean Peninsula issue, PM Dung affirmed Vietnam’s consistent policy of supporting a peaceful and stable peninsula.

For East Sea issue, Mr. Kim affirmed the DPRK’s stance of supporting the settlement of disputes on the East Sea through peaceful means.
