VN treasures security, national defense cooperation with Russia

The Party chief made the statement while receiving visiting Russian Security Council Secretary General N. P. Patrushev in Hà Nội on June 8.
Security and national defense cooperation plays the leading role in the strategic partnership between Việt Nam and Russia for long-lasting benefits of the two peoples, for regional and global peace, stability, cooperation and development, the Vietnamese leader stressed.
General Secretary Trọng expressed his belief that General Patrushev’s visit would contribute to consolidating and enhancing the Việt Nam-Russia strategic partnership.
The Party, State and people of Việt Nam always remember and treasure the valuable support of the former Soviet Union and the Russian Federation for Việt Nam, asserted Mr. Trọng.
General Patrushev hailed Việt Nam's innovation cause and rising status in the regional and global arena.
He informed the Party chief about outcomes of his working session with Vietnamese agencies, expressing his pleasure at the robust developments in the bilateral ties in all fields, including security and national defense.
The General also underlined his determination to boosting security relations between the two countries.
