VN ups 20 notches in global innovation index

VGP – Việt Nam ranked 51st among 125 economies worldwide in the Global Innovation Index (GII) 2011, jumping 20 steps against last year, according to the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).

The WIPO announced that Việt Nam moved up significantly from the previous position of 71st in 2010.

The GII 2011 report listed top countries and territories as Switzerland, Sweden, Hong Kong, Finland, Denmark, the US, Canada and the UK.   

Malaysia and Thailand led Southeast Asia with 31st and 48th places, respectively.

The GII 2011 involved 125 economies worldwide based on average scores of indicators for innovation including favorable environment, organization, human resources, markets, infrastructure, business environment, scientific renovation, and creativity.
