The Government chief noted that the fine bilateral relations have been nurtured by generations of the two countries’s leaders and people.

PM Dũng also took the occasion to thank Lithuania for its valuable support in the years of national liberation and unification.

He hoped that the two countries’ two-way trade volume would reach higher figures in the coming years from the current amount of US $ 40 million.

The two sides need to quickly work out an agreement on bilateral economic cooperation and set up an intergovernmental cooperation mechanism between the two governments, the PM said.

PM Dũng also called on Lithuania to expand coordination and support each other at regional and international forums as well as cooperation in the fields of education and training, culture, science and technology, and infrastructure development.

The Vietnamese Government leader pledges to create favorable conditions for the diplomat to fulfill her mission in Việt Nam.

For her part, Ms. Lina Antanavicinene said with the traditional friendship, goodwill and joint efforts, the two countries’ ties would continue to flourish in the future.

She asserted that Lithuania always supports Việt Nam to expand relations with the European Union.
