Viet Nam-Argentina business forum partners in growth

Mr. Dam made the point today in Ha Noi at the Viet Nam-Argentina Business Forum which drew the attendance of 100 businesses seeking investment and business opportunities.

According to Mr. Dam, since the diplomatic establishment, the bilateral ties have been unceasingly consolidated and flourished in various fields, especially economics.

In 2018, total two-way trade turnover hit nearly US$ 2.9 billion. Argentina is the second largest importer of Viet Nam in the Latin America.

Viet Nam and Argentina own supportive markets in which Viet Nam chiefly provides raw materials for footwear and garments and Argentina offers castle food.

The Deputy PM took the occasion to introduce Viet Nam’s potentials including over 650-million population and a 7.08% GDP growth rate.

So far, Argentinean investors have only four FDI projects in Viet Nam. However, Mr. Dam praised the pioneers, expecting that additional Argentinean businesses would set footholds in Viet Nam.

In addition, so far, Vietnamese enterprises invested nearly 1,500 projects in 80 countries and territories. Hence, the Vietnamese Government hoped that the Argentinean Government and business community create favorable ways for Vietnamese peers to seek business opportunities in Argentina.

According to President Mauricio Macri, Argentinean businesses consider Asia as a region for trade and investment booms. Viet Nam is an important partner with abundant experience of economic growth transformation, smart and flexible integration.

Viet Nam and Argentina enjoy various opportunities not only in agriculture, trade, high-tech, telecom but also in culture and sports, said President Mauricio Macri. The President called upon enterprises to become key figures in thier respective countries' process of integration and economic development so that the geographical distance no longer is a hindrance to the bilateral ties.

Earlier, on February 20, during their talks Party General Secretary, State President Nguyen Phu Trong and President Mauricio Macri were unanimous in boosting the bilateral ties; spurring dialogues and cooperation; striving for a US$ 6 billion trade turnover over the next five years./.
