Of the figure, US$ 11.2 billion worth of goods was the country’s imports, with US$ 4.22 billion contrubuted by apparel products.
Trade volume with the US accounted for 76.6% of trade volume between Viet Nam and Latin American countries.
The Customs Agency also reported that in the first seven months, export turnover between Viet Nam and countries in America reached over US$ 18 billion, seeing a year-on-year surge of 19%.
Brazil ranked second with US$1.1 billion in trade turnover, up 51%; followed by Canada with US$ 903 million, up 23%; Argentina US$ 530 million, up 10%; Mexico US$ 473 million, up 32%.
Viet Nam mainly imported computers and electronic spare parts worth of US$ 643 million, up 403% against the same period in 2011; livestock farm food US$596 million, up 6%; equipment, machines and spare parts US$510 million, up 12%; cotton US$ 227 million, down 45% from Latin America./.
