VN's COVID-19 recovery rate reaches nearly 94%, National Steering Committee says

VGP – Viet Nam has gone 50 consecutive days without new COVID-19 infection in the community, according to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.

June 05, 2020 6:10 PM GMT+7

As of 6:06 pm on June 5, the country's patient tally remained unchanged at 328, including 188 imported cases quarantined right upon arrival.

Of the total, 307 patients have been cleared of the virus, accounting for 93.6%, the National Steering Committee said.

The current 21 active cases are being treated at health facilities, of whom 10 tested negative for the virus once and three tested negative at least twice.

As many as 8,143 people having been in close contact or entering from pandemic-hit areas are being isolated at hospitals, concentrated quarantine establishments, and places of residence.

The nation has no fatality due to COVID-19 so far, while the health of Patient 91, the country’s most critically ill COVID-19 patient, has improved significantly.

Undergoing intensive care at the Cho Ray Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City after being announced as free from the deadly virus, the British pilot has regained consciousness and his lung recovery has reached about 60%.

The patient stopped relying on extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) but he is still in serious condition./.
