VN’s sea transport on the move
VGP - A two-day international seminar on Việt Nam’s maritime transport and seaports took place in Hồ Chí Minh City on October 14 with the participation of officials from many countries.

The event aims at sharing experience of manging seaports and maritime
transport in the post-crisis period.
To convert the maritime transport into the leading sea-borne economic sector
by 2020, the Vietnamese Government has approved a national sea transport
development plan to 2015.
Accordingly, by 2015 Việt
The total volume of cargo going through Vietnamese seaports is expected
to reach 500-600 million tons in 2015, 800-1,100 million tons in 2020, and
1,600-2,100 million tons in 2030.
