Vice President holds talks with Angolan counterpart
VGP – Vietnamese Vice State President Nguyễn Thị Doan on Wednesday in Hà Nội held talks with her Angolan counterpart Fernando Dias dos Santos who is on an official visit to Việt Nam.

The host leader affirmed that Việt Nam attaches importance to developing ties with African traditional friends including Angola and stands ready to foster collaboration with them.
Vice President Fernando Dias Dos Santos said that Angola hopes to cement and deepen the traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation with Việt Nam, especially in agriculture, healthcare, education, oil and gas.
The two sides reached consensus on furthering the two countries’ linkages in key areas, broadening cooperation to potential fields like construction, mine ores, telecom, early carrying out the implementation of the signed agreements and starting negotiations for new ones.
After the talks, Vice State President Nguyễn Thị Doan and her Angolan counterpart Fernando Dias dos Santos witnessed the signing of a Protocol on technical cooperation in tertiary education between the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training and the Angolan Ministry of Science and Technology and another Protocol on cultural cooperation between the Vietnamese Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Angolan Ministry of Culture.
*Angola opens embassy in HN
The same day, Angolan Vice President Fernando Dias dos Santos attended the opening ceremony of the Angolan Embassy in Việt Nam.
Despite geographic distance, the relations between Việt Nam and Angola are growing after the two countries established their diplomatic ties 36 years ago, said Angolan Ambassador to Việt Nam Joao Manuel Bernardo.
The opening of the embassy is expected to develop the cooperative friendship between the two countries, said Mr. Joao Manuel Bernardo./.
