Viet Nam Business Forum opens

VGP – The Viet Nam Business Forum (VBF) was kicked off on June 3 in Ha Noi with the attendance of Deputy PM Vu Van Ninh, ministerial leaders as well as domestic and foreign investors.

Addressing the event, Deputy PM Vu Van Ninh asked ministries and agencies to consider and collect reasonable suggestions from the business community to seek effective measures to better the business climate. 

According to Mr. Ninh, the Vietnamese Government has taken steps to resolve business and production difficulties such as tax breaks, tax cancellations, credit subsidies for prioritized fields and administrative procedure reform. 

In the coming time, the Government would continue to review inappropriate policies and reform provisions on taxes, fees, business registrations, credit, customs and real estate to boost business activities especially on industry and agriculture.

In addition, the Government would focus on domestic market expansion; beef up export, regulate prices of electricity, coal, water, public services on education and healthcare in line with market mechanisms; strengthen market management; and prevent tax avoidance and smuggling. 

Viet Nam committed to fighting corruption and wastefulness, making law and speeding up the implementation of the administrative reform. 

The host leader highlighted that the Government would promptly realize the Restructuring Action Program in some areas and the Overall Scheme on Economic Restructuring to speed up equitization of SOEs. 

According to Ninh, multinational corporations are encouraged to join in large-scale projects, high-tech projects and infrastructure ones in Viet Nam to alter the restructuring process, promote auxiliary industries and assist domestic business development.

Projects spending State budget, Government bonds and ODA would be sped up and private investment resources are invited. 

VBF is the official and constructive dialogue channel between the Government and business community in Viet Nam to build up favorable business environment, attract investment and stimulate economic growth.

Under the theme “New phase of economic reform – From Agenda to Action”, VBF delegates would talk about business environment experience of commercial chambers, reports on the banking, capital markets, investment, trade, infrastructure, as well as the automobile and motorbike industry, tourism, education and the mineral industry. /.
