March 25, 2021 6:36 PM GMT+7

All the latest patients are Vietnamese, including one repatriated from the U.S.

Specifically, patients 2577-2578 are residents Ngu Phuc Commune, Kim Thanh District, Hai Duong Province.

Patient 2579 is a 44-year-old woman in the Mekong Delta province of Vinh Long.

She flew from the U.S. to Japan and then took a flight to Ho Chi Minh City on March 22.

Among the national patient tally, 2,265 have recovered and exited hospitals while 35 others have been reported dead.

Viet Nam is placing 36,480 people under medical surveillance and quarantine, of whom 485 are being kept at hospitals and 18,343 at concentrated quarantine sites.

The same day, a Viet Nam Airlines flight VN5571 carrying 200 Vietnamese nationals from Chinese Taipei landed safely at the Da Nang International Airport. This is the first inbound commercial flight after nearly four months of suspension due to resurgence of COVID-19 in Viet Nam.

The country began administering COVID-19 vaccine to frontline workers since March 8 and nearly 40,000 people have been vaccinated to date.

Viet Nam is set to receive 811,200 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine from the COVAX Facility in the next three weeks, allowing the country to further expand its COVID-19 vaccination program./.
