The subordinate levels must stand ready to deal with all situations while mask wearing is compulsory for all individuals in public places.

The Government also ordered sustaining strict control of entry and exit, especially in border provinces.

In response to the Government’s order, Minister of Health Nguyen Thanh Long on Saturday decided to establish five different delegations led by him and his deputies to 13 localities in the Mekong Delta to inspect entry and exit, quarantine and medical surveillance, and vaccination works.

Regarding the ongoing COVID-19 vaccination program, the Government tasked the Ministry of Health to organize the implementation of the program in a quick and absolutely safe manner, making sure that all vaccine doses delivered to Viet Nam will be used before the expiry dates.

So far, the Southeast Asian country has received 928,800 AstraZeneca vaccine doses and 67,789 frontline workers have been vaccinated since March 8 in 22 provinces and cities.

The ministry is also responsible for developing “vaccine passport” mechanism in favor of achieving the dual goal of pandemic containment and economic recovery.

As of 6:05 pm on Saturday, Viet Nam confirmed a total of 2,781 COVID-19 cases, including 2,475 recoveries and 35 fatalities, after having experienced three waves of local transmissions.

Of the national caseload, 1,570 are locally-transmitted cases, reported the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control led by Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam./.
