Viet Nam confirms 16 new COVID-19 cases

VGP – Viet Nam confirmed 16 new cases of COVID-19 this afternoon, bringing the national patient tally to 2,069.

The latest patients include three imported cases and 13 local infection cases in Ha Noi (two), Ho Chi Minh City (two), Hung Yen (two), Gia Lai (one), and Hai Duong (six).

Specifically, patients 2054-2059 are residents in Hai Duong, all linked to the cluster in the locality’s Chi Linh City.

They are being treated at the Chi Linh City Medical Center.

Patient 2060 is a 38-year-old man in Yen My District, Hung Yen Province.

The patient, linked to a COVID-19 cluster in Hai Duong’s Lai Cach District, is being treated at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Ha Noi’s Dong Anh District.

Patient 2062 is a 69-year-old woman in Yen My District, Hung Yen Province.

Patient 2063 is a 38-year-old woman in Yen My District, Hung Yen Province.

Both of them came in close contact with patient 2060 and are being treated at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Ha Noi’s Dong Anh District.

Patient 2064 is a 73-year-old man in Ha Noi’s Cau Giay District. He came in contact with patient 1819 and was quarantined since January 30.

He is being treated at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Ha Noi’s Dong Anh District.

Patient 2065 is a 43-year-old man in Ho Chi Minh City’s Tan Binh District.

Patient 2066 is a 25-year-old man in Ho Chi Minh City’s District 3.

Both of them are being treated at the city’s Cu Chi field hospital.

Patient 2069 is a six-year-old girl in Ayun Pa Town, Gia Lai Province.

She is being treated at the Ayun Pa Town Medical Center.

Regarding three imported cases (patients numbered 2061, 2067, and 2068), one of them is Costa Rican man who flew from the U.S. to Hong Kong, China and then to Ho Chi Minh City on January 24.

The others are Vietnamese nationals brought home from Japan and the U.S.

The same day, two patients were declared free of the virus and exited hospitals, taking the total recoveries to 1,474./.
