Viet Nam reports 3,595 new COVID-19 cases

VGP – There were 3,595 new COVID-19 cases over the last 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health.

The latest patients consist of three imported cases and 3,592 domestic infections in 49 cities and provinces, namely Ho Chi Minh City (783), Binh Duong (528), Dong Nai (481), An Giang (290), Dak Lak (162), Tien Giang (121), Tay Ninh (120), Kien Giang (118), Tra Vinh (108), Bac Lieu (106), Long An (66), Nghe An (59), Can Tho (57), Thanh Hoa (50), Gia Lai (46), Khanh Hoa (45), Binh Thuan (40), Ba Ria – Vung Tau (33), Phu Tho (33), Ca Mau (32), Quang Nam (28), Ha Giang (28), Hau Giang (27), Nam Dinh (26), Binh Dinh (23), Binh Phuoc (23), Ben Tre (19), Vinh Long (18), Ha Noi (18), Dong Thap (17), Thua Thien-Hue (12), Ninh Thuan (11), Ha Nam (11), Hung Yen (8), Quang Ngai (8), Dak Nong (7), Lam Dong (6), Son La (4), Quang Binh (3), Da Nang (2), Phu Yen (2), Vinh Phuc (2), Kon Tum (2), Bac Giang (2), Lai Chau (2), Tuyen Quang (2), Bac Ninh (1), Lang Son (1), and Hai Duong (1).

These cases bring the national caseload to 896,174, of which 807,473 are locally transmitted cases recorded in late April this year.

The same day, the ministry reported 2,989 recoveries, taking the total number of recovered cases to 810,290, accounting for more than 90 percent of Viet Nam’s total infections.

The ministry also announced further 64 fatalities in Ho Chi Minh City (27), Binh Duong (14), Dong Nai (4), Tien Giang (3), Long An (3), Bac Lieu (3), Tay Ninh (3), An Giang (3), Ninh Thuan (1), Can Tho (1), Ca Mau (1), and Nghe An (1), raising the death toll to 21,802.

The nation has administered  74,950,393 COVID-19 vaccine doses, an increase of 920,398 doses from Monday./.
