Viet Nam reports 9,373 new COVID-19 cases
VGP – The Ministry of Health confirmed 9,373 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday, raising the national patient tally to 677,023.

The national tally includes 672,592 locally transmitted cases recorded in 62 cities and provinces since April 27 when the fourth COVID-19 wave hit Viet Nam.
Fifteen out of the aforesaid localities have gone 14 days without a single infection case: Bac Kan, Tuyen Quang, Lai Chau, Hoa Binh, Yen Bai, Ha Giang, Thai Nguyen, Dien Bien, Vinh Phuc, Hai Phong, Hai Duong, Ha Nam, Phu Tho, Ninh Binh, Nam Dinh.
Ho Chi Minh City remains epicenter of the current wave with (331,032), representing nearly 49 percent of the national caseload. It is followed by Binh Duong (175,963), Dong Nai (39,020), Long An (30.079), and Tien Giang (12,957).
The same day, the ministry reported 14,903 recoveries, taking the total number of recovered cases to 448,368. Among the current positive cases, 5,477 are in critical conditions.
The death toll rose to 16,857, including 220 fatalities announced on Saturday in Ho Chi Minh City (165), Binh Duong (39), Kien Giang (7), Tay Ninh (3), Dong Thap (2), Binh Thuan (1), Thanh Hoa (1), Quang Ngai (1), and Ha Noi (1).
To date, Viet Nam has administered 33,555,359 COVID-19 vaccine doses, with 6,347,095 people having been fully vaccinated./.
