Vietjet Air announces two new routes to Japan

VGP – The budget carrier Vietjet Air on Monday announced two new direct routes to Japan at a ceremony held in Tokyo, Japan.

Present at the ceremony included Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Secretary General of Japan’s Liberal Democratic Party Toshihiro Nikai, and Minister in charge of Regional Revitalization Satsuki Katayama.

Ms. Thuy Binh, Vice Director General of Vietjet Air said the expansion of the carrier’s network from Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang City to Tokyo will offer more options for citizens from both countries for their travel plans.

Earlier, the Vietnamese carrier lauched three direct routes to Japan, including from Ho Chi Minh City and Ha Noi to Osaka and from Ha Noi to Tokyo.

During the ceremony, Vietjet also received a certificate as member of Keidanren and became the first budget carrier in the world to join the economic organization that has 1,412 representative businesses.

Speaking at the event, PM Phuc congratulated Vietjet on becoming a member of the Keidanren – the most comprehensive economic organization of Japan.

He hailed the the expansion of Vietjet’s flight network as it will meet the demand of more than 330,000 Vietnamese people living in Japan as well as the rising travel needs of the two sides’ citizens.
