Vietnam, India seek to boost cooperation

 PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng and PM Manmohan Singh were expressing their happiness that there had been new developments in the traditional relationship and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries cultivated by Presient Hồ Chí Minh and PM Jawaharlal Nehru. The two sides were satisfied with the festive activities for the 35th anniversary of the establishment of the bilateral diplomatic ties at ambassadorial level (January 07, 1972-January 07, 2007) that have been going in both countries. They expressed their hope that more such activities to mark this important event would continue in Vietnam and India throughout the year 2007. The two PMs agreed to convene the 13th meeting of the inter-government joint cooperation committee in the first quarter of 2007 in India with the aim of reviewing the cooperation programs and discuss ways to strengthen and promote the bilateral economic, trade, investment, scientific-technological, cultural and education ties.

PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng thanked and appreciated India's close cooperation with Vietnam at different international organizations and fora, especially the United Nations and the Non-Aligned Movement.  He was grateful to India's support to his country's WTO membership.

PM Manmohan Singh conveyed his deep feelings and desire that the Indian Government and people would unceasingly develop the friendship and the cooperation in all fields with Vietnam. He congratulated the Vietnamese Government and people on the huge achievements made in national construction and development over the past years, saying he wanted the economic, trade and investment cooperation between the two countries to match with their fine, friendly and traditional political relation. PM Manmohan Singh took this occasion to invite PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng for a formal visit to India and launch the Vietnam Days festival in New Delhi sometime in the first quarter of 2007.
