Japan continues to be the biggest official development assistance (ODA) provider, the second largest investor and the fourth biggest trade partner of Viet Nam, emphasized Phuc.

He thanked Japan for its ODA grant over nearly three decades, which has made important contributions to socio-economic development, poverty reduction, and infrastructure development in Viet Nam.

The Government has always attached importance to and seriously implemented its ODA commitments between the two countries, Phuc said.

He called on Japan to continue its assistance for Viet Nam to reform and improve the effectiveness of the State apparatus and foster e-government development towards building a digital government and digital economy.

The Government chief also urged the Vietnamese Government Office and the Ministry of Information and Communications to strengthen cooperation with the Japanese Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications in deploying the signed documents.
