Within the framework of the visit, the two PMs will co-chair the Viet Nam-Cambodia trade and investment promotion meeting and a meeting reviewing border land marker and demarcation in the 2006-2019 period.

As scheduled, PM Hun Sen will pay a courtesy visit to Party General Secretary, State President Nguyen Phu Trong and lay a wreath at President Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum.

Established 50 years ago, Viet Nam-Cambodia special relationship has been continuously promoted. The two nations have enhanced their relations in the motto of good neighboring, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation and long-term sustainability.

Remarkable high-ranking visits were organized such as Party chief, State President Nguyen Phu Trong’s State visit to Cambodia in February 2019 and Cambodian PM Hun Sen’s official visit to Viet Nam in December 2018.

The bilateral trade value in 2018 witnessed an increase of 24% against the previous year, exceeding US$4.7 billion. The two-way trade value hit US$3 billion over the first eight months of 2019.

Viet Nam has poured more than US3 billion in 200 projects in Cambodia, focusing on such areas as rubber, telecommunications, finance, banking and energy.

Besides, a number of agreements were inked including the double taxation avoidance agreement, an agreement on enhancement of Viet Nam-Cambodia economic and trade cooperation in 2019-2020 period, transport cooperation strategy with vision to 2030, a protocol to amend the road transport agreement and a protocol to amend the waterway transport agreement.
