Vietnamese Family Festival 2011 officially opens

VGP – The Vietnamese Family Festival 2011 officially opened at the Việt Nam Exhibition Center for Culture and Arts, Hà Nội, on June 25.

The festival is a a meaningful occasion for parents and their children to promote the traditional cultural values of Vietnamese families.

A wide range of activities ranging from exhibition, exchanges, seminars and other culture and art performances are being held during the event which is scheduled to last till June 28..

The festival, entitled “Practical Actions to Build Happy and Sustainable Families”, is being jointly held by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Hà Nội municipal People's Committee.

The Vietnamese Family Festival 2011 is part of a series of activities to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Vietnamese Family Day (June 28).

The Vietnamese Family Day was officially chosen in 2001 following a decision signed by the Vietnamese Prime Minister.

On the occasion, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism launched a campaign on developing family.
