The PM made the statement while hosting a reception for Tsutomu Takebe, the special advisor to the Japan-Viet Nam Friendship Parliamentary Alliance, in Ha Noi on September 7.

He emphasized that the recent visits and meetings between the two countries’ senior leaders have opened up a new development period, which is even more comprehensive and substantive, in bilateral relations.

Japan is a leading economic partner of Viet Nam, ranking first in terms of the provision of official development assistance (ODA) capital, second concerning investment, third regarding tourism and fourth with regards to trade, PM Phuc said.

He affirmed that the Vietnamese Government has always tried its best and removed all obstacles to strongly develop the country’s extensive strategic partnership with Japan.

The leader asked Tsutomu Takebe, parliamentarians in the Japan-Viet Nam Friendship Parliamentary Alliance, and the Japanese Embassy in Viet Nam to further accelerate the Viet Nam-Japan ties via cooperation across spheres, especially promoting the projects using Japan’s ODA capital.

The guest expressed his impression on the intelligence and industriousness of Vietnamese students, noting that he always thinks of measures to help the Viet Nam-Japan University develop strongly and become a symbol of relations between the two countries.

Takebe called on the Vietnamese Government and PM Phuc to constantly care for the development of the university, expressing his wish that the two nations’ PMs will work out measures to further facilitate the university’s development during their meetings in the future.
