Vietnamese and British police join hand in fighting transnational crimes

VNGOP – A delegation of the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security and senior representatives of the United Kingdom’s law enforcing bodies had a working session on January 24 in London to sum up their cooperation after one year signing the Memorandum of Understanding on fighting against serious crimes.

According to a representative of the UK police, their cooperation with Vietnamese counterparts is increasingly consolidated in order to bring about better results in coping with Vietnamese organized gangs in the UK as well as in protecting the Vietnamese community.

The two sides have agreed on methods to increase information exchange channels and deal with such crimes as money laundering, marijuana growing, violence, illegal immigration and child abuse.  

The British police is also assisting Vietnam to increase the latter’s ability in fighting against new crimes and exploiting new technologies.
