Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and Chinese Party General Secretary and President Xi Jinping meet with young people attending the 16th annual Viet Nam-China Youth Meeting in Ha Noi on November 6.

The two leaders also delivered speeches to 400 delegates who presented for Vietnamese and Chinese youths.

Addressing the meeting, Mr. Xi Jinping stressed that at a historic moment when the two countries are celebrating the 65th anniversary of diplomatic ties, we commemorate revolutionary ancestors; look back unforgettable years, and look forward to the fine relations between Viet Nam and China.

According to the Chinese leader, amidst international and regional complicated situations, Viet Nam and China are facing both opportunities and challenges, thus the two should consolidate mutual trust, strengthen solidarity, and promote development.

He also underlined that China does not accept a powerful country to become a dictator, but persists in amicableness and deeply cooperates and connects with surrounding countries, including Viet Nam and forever becomes a close comrade of socialism countries, a trustful friend and an honest partner of developing countries.

The leader was convinced that the traditional ties between Viet Nam and China would overcome history and flourish forever.

For his part, the Vietnamese Party chief highlighted that this was a significant meeting as the two countries are celebrating the 65th anniversary of diplomatic ties.

The two countries shared a valuable asset – a traditional friendship of "comrade relationship plus brotherhood’ nurtured by late Presidents Ho Chi Minh and Mao Zedong and previous leader generations.

Mr. Trong hoped that the youth of the two countries should strengthen exchanges, work closely to nurture the solidarity and friendship between Viet Nam and China./.
