Vietnamese pay respect to Hùng Kings

VGP – Thousands of Vietnamese people across the country flocked to Hùng Kings Temple complex in the northern province of Phú Thọ on Saturday morning to pay respect to Hùng Kings.

The annual incense-offering ceremony, organized by the local authority on March 10th (lunar year), is to express gratitude to the nation's founders, and the assembled also prayed for peace and prosperity for the country and its people.

It is also one of the most important and meaningful events that connect Vietnamese people from all over the country together and enhance the national unity and remind Vietnamese people of their origin and history.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of the Phú Thọ Provincial People's Committee Hoàng Dân Mạc, stated that the entire population is in solidarity about building a prosperous nation.

Also on Saturday morning, NA Chairman Nguyễn Sinh Hùng and President of the Việt Nam Fatherland Front Huỳnh Đảm also offered incense to commemorate the Hùng Kings.

Also on March 30, another ceremony to offer incense to the Hùng Kings was held in the National Culture and History Park in Hồ Chí Minh City’s District 9, in the presence of Politburo member and Secretary of HCM City Party’s Committee Lê Thanh Hải and Chairman of the HCM People’s Committee Lê Hoàng Quân.

On the occasion, 30 outstanding overseas Vietnamese returned to Việt Nam to take part in the Hùng Kings Festival from March 26-31, according to the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese.
