Competitiveness of Vietnamese textiles and garments is increasingly raised

The Việt Nam National Textile and Garment Group (Vinatex), the major players in the sector, uncovered its plan to further change the mode of management over its subsidiaries through four factors – modern technology, trademark, market and personnel.

"After maintaining a two-digit growth rate for years, it is time to pursue the in-depth development,  through increasing added value of each and every product, so as to highlight the Vietnamese trademarks and improve competitiveness for Vietnamese textiles and garments", said Mr. Lê Tiến Trường, Vinatex Deputy Director.

Vietnamese products are preferred by foreign partners because they are good in quality, competitive in prices, and environmentally friendly.

In 2009, Vinatex targets to earn an export turnover of SU $9.2-9.5 billion (up 5%) and a sales increase of 5-6%. The group also vows to maintain its macro balance and minimize the unemployment rate.

Việt Nam is trying to rank among the world’s top-five textile and garment producers in 2011.
