Work begins on Japanese-invested gypsum plant in Ba Ria-Vung Tau

VGP - Construction on a US$50 million gypsum factory kicked off in Phu My town, Ba Ria-Vung Tau province on June 13.

Work begins on Japanese-invested gypsum plant in Ba Ria-Vung Tau

Addressing the groundbreaking ceremony, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Long said he believed that the factory will help improve local production technology and generate jobs for local residents.

The factory will also provide gypsum products that meet Japanese standards of quality for the construction material market in Viet Nam, he said.

Chairman and General Director of Yoshino Gypsum Viet Nam Eisaku Sudo said that the gypsum plant in the southern province has solely been invested by JapaneseYoshino Gypsum company. The project has a total investment of US$50 million and covers nearly 6.3ha at the Phy My 3 Industrial Zone.

The first phase of the project is scheduled to produce 150,000 tons of gypsum boards per year and the second phase of the project is expected to produces gypsum joint compound, with a capacity of 30,000 tons per year.

The factory is slated for completion in late 2020, applying  advanced Japanese technologies to produce gypsum products./.
